A loyalty program that survives the morning rush
Coffee is the ideal loyalty business. Visits are frequent, the reward is cheap to give, and the habit is worth defending, because a regular who switches to the cafe across the road is worth far more than one lost sale.
TapCard was built with cafes first. Kite Coffee, Meetup Coffee and Phase run on it daily.
Buy nine, get one, without the paper
The mechanic every coffee drinker already understands, kept exactly as it is. Choose how many stamps earn the free drink, upload your stamp artwork or have it generated, and the card lands in the customer's wallet with your colours on it.
No more cards left in the other jacket, no more soggy card from a rainy walk, and no more customer swearing they had eight stamps.
Eight in the morning is the real test
Any loyalty system works at eleven on a Tuesday. The one that matters is a queue to the door with one barista on the machine.
Two things keep TapCard out of the way. A stamp is a single scan, roughly a second. And when even that is too slow, the receipt can carry a signed one-time code the customer scans themselves at the table, so the counter never stops.
- One scan per stamp, no order lookup needed
- Or the customer stamps their own card from the receipt
- Multiple staff phones at once, each stamp attributed
- Works on the phones your baristas already carry
Stamps per visit or per rupee
A flat white and a full breakfast should probably not earn the same thing. TapCard can give one stamp per visit, or derive stamps from the order total, for example one stamp per 500 in spend.
Cafes selling beans and merchandise alongside drinks often prefer a cashback card instead, where customers earn a percentage of what they spend and redeem it against anything.
Knowing which regulars are slipping away
The most useful thing a cafe gets from digital loyalty is not the stamps. It is knowing that eleven people who used to come twice a week have not been in for a month, while they are still winnable.
TapCard surfaces those customers and lets you send them a targeted message, rather than blasting your whole list with a discount the loyal ones would have paid full price for.

Frequently asked questions
How many stamps should a coffee card have?
Most cafes settle between eight and ten for a free drink. Fewer feels generous but gets expensive; more than twelve and customers stop believing they will finish it.
Will this slow down my counter?
A stamp is one scan, about a second. During peak hours you can also print a one-time code on the receipt so customers stamp themselves and staff carry on serving.
Can I run it across two cafe locations?
Yes. Cards work across all your branches and each stamp records which branch it came from. The free Starter plan covers one location, and additional branches are on a paid plan.
What stops a barista stamping their friends?
Every stamp is logged with the time, branch and which staff member added it, and cards have a daily earning limit. It does not make abuse impossible, but it makes it visible, which paper never did.
Do I need a POS integration?
No. Most cafes run TapCard entirely on staff phones. If you do have a supported POS, stamps can be tied to the order so the amount is filled in automatically.
